“Medal-Heads” is a blog about international sports and the political, diplomatic, and cultural meanings thereof. It was created as part of a forthcoming documentary on fans of the London 2012 Olympic Games. You can quibble about whether the Olympics really matter, but they happen every two years and make billions of dollars and draw millions of fans regardless of what anyone thinks.
Sulagna Misra (founder & editor) is a graduate of the class of 2013 from the Master’s of Public Diplomacy Program at the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism and School of International Relations. The documentary was her master’s practicum.
Kia Hays (co-editor), a fellow 2013 Master’s of Public Diplomacy graduate, went to London with Sulagna to help her interview fans. She is the former editor of USC’s Public Diplomacy Magazine.
Submissions are always welcome! We are interested in anything to do with sports and international relations, and any connections you can make in between. To submit or ask questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
